THE THOUGHT CRIMINALS Hilton Bomber 7" EP

£8.50

First reissue in over 20 years for the killer debut release of one of the best Australian Punk bands. Formed in 1977 in Sydney, the band was inspired by the DIY ethic of the Desperate Bicycles. While the Criminals and the Bicycles shared an attitude (indeed, the Australians take the anti-profit angle further yet with their 'I Won't Pay For Punk Records', which begs the question of how this was sold), there's a burlier, more overtly aggressive thrust here, and all four cuts are legit minor classics of tough, smart early Punk Rock. Originally released in June 1978 on the band's own Doublethink label, only 250 were pressed, an original copy of this impossible-to-find 7” will cost you about $3000 (if you are lucky enough to find one), in 2006 Ascension Records reissued it along with their second single “Food For Thoughtcrimes". The band released three other singles and two LPs before disbanding in 1981
